Representative for the interests of people with disabilities and inclusion
In 2016, Bernd Seel, honorary city councillor of the town of Hattersheim am Main, was officially appointed as a representative for the interests of people with disabilities and for inclusion. He has also been Chair of the Inclusion Council since 2018.
His main task is to work towards creating equal living conditions for people with and without disabilities – in all areas of social life.
Bernd Seel regularly offers open consultation hours between 17:00 and 18:00. You will find the exact times here.
The preamble of the statutes of the Inclusion Council, which was established in 2018, states that “Diversity is normal and has many nuances.”
Based on this premise, his members have made it their goal to recognise the different needs of Hattersheim’s citizens and to promote the abolition of barriers. Proposals and concepts can be developed for this purpose and then forwarded to politicians.
The first Inclusion Council meeting took place on 19 June 2018.

If you discover barriers in your day-to-day life and living environment, we would be delighted to hear from you. We have set up an online form for this purpose – the barrier notifier. You therefore have the opportunity to notify us of barriers, to describe them and to upload photos to explain them.
The notifications go straight to the town hall and are forwarded to the responsible specialist area and/or to Mr Seel, the Officer for the Affairs of Persons with Disabilities and Inclusion for verification. The responsible employee and/or Mr Seel will then get in touch with you.
